about me mrs s creationsMy name is Gilly and I work from my home in East Yorkshire near the glorious coast in the United Kingdom. I live with my husband and my grown up son and not forgetting my beautiful Staffordshire Bull terrier, Prince.

As an avid crafter I have tried numerous crafts over the years including knitting, dressmaking, jewellery making, cross stitch, and scrap booking to mention a few.  My Nanna taught me to knit when I was a child and I have made many weird and wonderful knitted items over the years!  It is my go to craft and I usually have several projects on my needles. After storing them in plastic carriers or jut on the floor I decided to create some projects bags to organise my projects better and to keep them clean.

I love sourcing fabrics that I think will make great bags and accessories and like to try different fabric combinations. I also love to experiment with different types of fabrics. Over the coming months I am planning on trying out some different ideas for needle cases and bags.  Recently I have been developing a pattern for an interchangeable needle case which are my needles of choice.  To find out more click here to view the blog post.

As I make far more then I can use I opened an Etsy shop where I sell projects bags and stitch markers. In the future I am planning on adding other accessories and bag shapes. I love to try out new designs and types of products. I also occasionally sell my hand knit items in the shop as I always knit more then I can use!

More recently I have started to dye my own yarns. I love the process of creating colourways and experimenting with various colour combinations and dyeing techniques. I love knitting with hand dyed yarn because each skein is unique even when dyed in the same batch. Most of my colourways are based on nature, but every so often there will be something that inspires a colour.  Some of the repeatable colourways are also now stocked in my Etsy shop and I hope you enjoy knitting or crocheting with them as much as I do.

As well as having stock items, I am happy to take custom orders for knitting project bags, hand dyed yarns or any of the other designs I make. If you would like something custom made, please visit the shop where you can contact me to arrange a custom item.  Hopefully I will be able to accommodate your request and prepare you a custom made item.
